DUE
written and directed by John Sparano
A priest is caught between his commitment to the Church, and a request from an old romantic involvement. In the ancient town of Tricase, a young woman and a young priest comes to terms with their past and present attractions. While both yearned for a different outcome, they took separate paths away from each other. The pressures of the world have brought them back together, but with their reunion also brings the pain and loneliness of a love unfulfilled.
DIRECTOR'S NOTE
In this story I wanted to explore a classic love story in a contemporary context. The most important thing was to convey a deep conflict in a clear and concise way. The motifs of God and love were mixed together with poetic dialogue in order to create a mini cinematic opera.
